Ocean Print Swim Collection

When I took up watercolour again after a long hiatus, I didn’t have any expectations about what I was going to paint. I tried to approach each day with just the mindset of Paint Anything. Listen to your intuition. Don’t place any restrictions. Don’t have a style. Just paint whatever you want, even if it’s drastically different from yesterday. What came out unexpectedly was whales.

When I first experimented with painting a whale shark, I knew I wanted to keep going. I loved the play of colour and the white spotted patterns. I kept going because I decided I wanted to make my very own pattern on a dress — I wanted to make something that I would like to wear myself — and that’s how my first whale shark ocean pattern was born.

A few years later I found the company Printful, and through them I saw that I could apply my pattern to swimwear. That was it — I was in love!

Below are some of the designs I’ve featured in the past. If you want to check out what’s in stock now, please visit my Etsy shop.

Some items, like the reversible bikini, are no longer carried for recent supplier reasons. Note, usually my Etsy shop goes for a winter slumber from Dec - Mar.
